Dr. Heather Shouldice

Heather grew up in the Waterloo region, and after receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, she attended the Ontario Veterinary College. Heather worked at Eldale as a veterinary assistant during her years at the college and has been working as a small animal vet since her graduation in 2009. Heather enjoys travelling, playing volleyball, and relaxing with her friends. Heather currently resides in Waterloo with her two very handsome cats, Moe and Sully.

Dr. Ashley Weisel

Ashley graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2011 after attaining a Bachelor’s degree at McGill University.  Upon completing veterinary college, her first job was in Toronto working as a small animal vet in a downtown practice.  After a few years there, she decided to move closer to family and friends in the Waterloo area.  Ashley enjoys working with the amazing staff at Eldale and looks forwards to seeing your pets in the practice.  If you miss her in the clinic she is probably out hiking, camping, skiing, travelling or playing hockey.   Currently living in Waterloo, Ashley shares her home with her husband, new baby, a big goofy dog named Tucker and needy cat, Finn.

Dr. Penny Barteaux

Penny was originally from the Maritimes, but attended the Ontario Veterinary College and graduated in 1993.  Since that time she has worked in various clinics in the area part-time while raising her three children full-time.  In 2003, she started her own equine dental practice and also became certified with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in 2005. Penny joined the Eldale staff in 2008 doing surgeries exclusively and became a full-time associate in 2012.  Recently Penny scaled back her work schedule and is working part-time and enjoying the start of her retirement with her husband, German Shepherd, and two cats.

Dr. Kelly O'Connor

Kelly graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2012 and started out working in both private practice and pet nutrition research. Other professional interests include emergency medicine, radiology, pain management and assisting with community outreach programs. In her free time Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, kayaking, hiking, travelling and drawing.
